What to expect

Dr. Julie Connolly understands that medical appointments can be time-consuming, whether you’re coming from out of town or nearby. To make care more convenient, we offer same-day vasectomy consultation and procedure appointments every Friday and during summer months on Thursdays between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. During your visit, Dr. Connolly will provide a thorough consultation, reviewing the procedure in detail—including its risks and benefits. A scrotal exam will then be performed to determine your suitability for an office-based, no-scalpel vasectomy. *IMPORTANT NOTICE* Please be aware that, in rare cases, due to individual anatomy or medical history, Dr. Connolly may not be able to safely perform the vasectomy at the time of your appointment. While this is uncommon, please be aware that you may leave your appointment without the procedure being performed. We strongly recommend considering this possibility when planning your travel arrangements. Your safety and the success of the procedure are our top priorities. What is the cost? Because vasectomy is fully covered by OHIP, there is no cost for the procedure, nor the consult. Any costs associated with off-work letters or work-related forms can be discussed at the time of your appointment. Please bring a travel grant form and Dr. Connolly will be happy to fill it out for you.
